4 p's

My analysis on the key concepts of development and/or communication that led to the project’s success or failure:

This Program truly helps those unfortunate Filipinos but many issues tell that this program is not good enough to be implemented because of lacking of knowledge that’s the reason why they are encountering many problems now so we can’t consider this as a successful project.
I've watched on the television a documentary report about this 4p’s, it stated there that not all the poor Filipinos are given the chance to benefit from this program especially those people from very far provinces.
Giving the people access also means giving the opportunities to air their views and complaints about a project. I think this project didn't provide an access to all target audiences. It would be better if the implementer of this program gather more information about the beneficiaries who will need this program the most. We all know that corruption is rampant in our country. And so, there's no doubt if some of the politicians would be the real beneficiaries of this program. They should always upgrade and inform the public about the nature and dynamics of the program as well as its new developments as part of transparency and public relations strategy so that the people will be aware and updated.

However, we should not always focus on the implementer of this project. 4p’s could also be successful if the concept of mobilization is used. The program is not alms-giving because it has established conditions and requirements which the beneficiaries need to comply. It means, those members should also be on the move, this program is very much appropriate for Filipinos e.specially for those who have a big family but can’t afford to feed their children, on the contrary, this would add up to the “laziness” of the Filipinos in the sense that they would just depend on the 4 p’s rather than find their own job to sustain their needs. As a matter of fact, one of my aunts benefits from this. It really improved the quality of their lives. She can now send her children to school regularly. On the other hand, her husband became more alcoholic because he can now afford to buy liquors from the money they get from this program.

Self-reliance is also very important in this program. Beneficiaries should learn to depend on themselves for their food and income. The money that this project provides is not enough to sustain the basic needs; they have to use money wisely and think of other things that can help them to meet their daily needs.

E-Communications in Knowledge Management and Information

The search for information is not a "new" challenge. We can have a huge amount of information available through the internet. That’s why many people claimed it as the most valuable tool in various settings of a person’s life; it is used to send information quickly between computers around the world.

I believe that the internet is the most powerful source of information, it carry different kinds of information, facts, details and services. For example Web blogs, these are popular now days and companies have utilized this tool to create awareness and evolve opinions on different issues but we have to be certain to check the credibility of our information sources before deciding how to view others opinions and claimed facts.

We can say that E-communication is a useful tool for information dissemination and knowledge management.According to Stan Garfield, Knowledge Management is the art of transforming information and intellectual assets into enduring value for an organization’s clients and its people.

With the use of Electronic communication, knowledge management has become easier. Many people say that “time is gold”. Through E-communication people can get a significant quantity of information with reference to a topic in a short time and regardless of geographic barriers, it allows people to access different point of views.

Electronic Communication on Community Development

Community development is the process of helping a community to strengthen itself and develop toward its full potential. Communication is the key component of sustainable and human development.

In the Philippine setting, one of the major problems is Lack of employment.  With the use of Electronic communication, the rate of unemployment can be decreased. It can provide jobs in the Business process outsourcing or known as Call/Contact Centers in which they can communicate with the people from other countries. Many Filipinos are fluent in speaking English and many developed countries like China, Korea and Japan need to keep with the global standard by learning the English language.

Electronic communications creates a new form of many-to-many communications that lets geographically distributed groups communicate interactively and simultaneously through text, sound and video. Actually for me it's a big help, It requires only few seconds to communicate with my students because it supports quick transmission.

I also think that due to advancement of electronic communication, businessmen can easily control operation across the globe. You can hold inexpensive video conferences from your desk, or conference with people at several desks located across the world.

Electronic communication is not only for providing employment or making the business life easier, it is also very important for information dissemination. It is necessary for people are aware of what is happening around them, with the use of an advance technology, we can spread important information that people need to know. So I can say Electronic communication is really a big help in community development.
